Modern Leather Case - iPhone 16 Pro Max | Olde Dublin | Horween

I’ve been really happy with the Modern Leather Case in Olde Dublin that I purchased for my iPhone 18 Pro Max. I really like the look and feel of the Horween leather, and the case provides a nice balance between having a genuine leather case and still offering good everyday protection. The fit is great and the buttons feel good as well.

Shortly after getting the case, I used a MagSafe wallet on the back and noticed that it left a visible mark in the leather. I wasn’t expecting this because I had previously used a Nomad Modern Leather Case on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and never experienced this type of marking. After contacting Nomad, they explained that they recommend avoiding MagSafe accessories for the first few weeks while the leather begins to age and develop its patina. I wasn’t aware of that, so I wanted to mention it for anyone else purchasing this case and to avoid doing the same.

Nomad’s customer service was excellent. Even though the mark may have resulted from my using the MagSafe wallet too soon after receiving the case, they offered to send me a replacement, which I really appreciated.

This isn’t my first Nomad leather case, and I’ve had a good experience with both the quality and protection their cases provide. Highly recommend, just don't attach any MagSafe accessories until it has some patina.

Case is a perfect blend of protection with the TPU sides and sleek luxury with the Horween leather. I will be purchasing the traditional case as I like the fully-wrapped leather better than the TPU sides but it’s a great case.

I was very happy with my SENA leather case that protected my old iPhone 14. It held up nicely for four years and protected the phone from a few nasty falls onto hard floors. It also did well with MagSafe charging. The Nomad case with Horween leather has been very disappointing. Although it appears very high quality and fits my iPhone 18Pro nicely (and does smell nice--but not as snug as I would like) the leather is not very resistant to any kind of scratching compared to my previous leather case. In fact the reason I am giving it only 1 star is because after I charged my phone a few times on my Otterbox MagSafe charger an unsightly circle appeared on the case where the leather dye transferred onto my white charger. See the photo below which has the NOMAD, Otter MaGSafe Charger and 4 year old SENA. Going to return the case.
