Frequently Asked Questions

What is a "backorder"?

Ordering a back-ordered item from our website is essentially like making a pre-order for a product that is not currently available for immediate shipping. We fulfill all back-orders once we receive inventory.

*We will ship your items separately if part of your order is back-ordered and your shipping address is in the US. This means that the items in your order that are ready to ship will be sent together, and the back-ordered items in your order will ship separately as soon as they are ready. This way, you can get your items as soon as possible!

**In most cases, we are not able to split international back-orders this way due to the high costs of international shipping.

Why was I charged immediately for my backorder?

We charge at the time of purchase in order to prevent any “surprise" charges once your order ships.

How do I cancel or change my backorder?

If you would like to cancel or change your order, please send an email to support@hellonomad.com with the word "cancel" or "update" as well as your order number in the subject line. We will respond to cancellation/update requests during our business hours of M-F 9am-5pm. We are not able to cancel or change any part of an order once it has shipped from our warehouse.

Please double check all information before confirming your order. Once an order is placed, there is no guarantee that we will be able to cancel or edit the order information, even if the status still states "Unfulfilled" or "Pending Fulfillment".

*Please refer to our Return Policy for information on how to process a return.

What should you know about wireless charging before using your Base Station Apple Watch Edition?

While wireless charging provides great convenience and aesthetic, it is important to understand how it works and how it differs from wired charging.

Wireless charging uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy between the transmitter coil (inside the charger) and the receiver coil (inside your phone). Alternating current (AC) is sent through an inductive coupling to an electrical device (your phone), which generates current within the receiver coils. This current is converted into direct current (DC), which charges the battery of the device.

Wireless charging is great because there's less cable chaos. However, it can also be less efficient (slower charging rate) than wired charging due to the energy that is lost in the transfer of power from the transmitter coils in the charging pad to the receiving coils inside your phone. For example, it is normal for an iPhone X to take 3-3.5 hours to obtain a full charge using a wireless charging pad. iPhone XS Max will take around 5 hours to charge from 0% to a full 100%.

Wireless charging can also require more attention when setting your device on the pad, due to the precision of the alignment of the transmitting and receiving coils that are necessary for inductive wireless charging. It can be frustrating taking the time to adjust and readjust where your phone is sitting on the charging pad before it hits that sweet spot that initiates charging your device, but the correct placement will become second nature after the first few times.

Can Base Station wirelessly charge my phone, Apple Watch, and AirPods?

Yes! Base Station Apple Watch Edition has three high-power wireless charging coils that allow for dual wireless charging for phones and wireless charging enabled AirPods, allowing for up to two wireless charging-enabled devices and an Apple Watch to charge simultaneously.

That includes wireless enabled Andriod phones, like Google and Samsung phones, and any iPhones from iPhone 8 / 8 Plus up until the most recent iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. However, Samsung watches are not compatible with the Apple Watch charger or wireless charging pad of Base Station Apple Watch Edition as they require the OEM wireless charger.

Base Station Apple Watch Edition provides 7.5W output for wireless charging.

What kind of plug does Base Station Apple Watch Edition use?

Base Station Apple Watch Edition uses a wall wart style AC power cable that is 1.2m long. It does not use a USB (micro, mini, or USB-C) type power cable.

International adapters (US, UK, and EU) are included. AU/NZ adapters will be included with orders shipping to Australia and New Zealand (they are also available to be included with your order upon request).
