VERY ANNOYING INSTALLATION BUT NICE PRODUCT

I used a flathead screwdriver to widen the opening with one hand and used the other hand to get the cable through. I used the Baseus USB C Cable, 100W PD 5A QC 4.0 Fast Charging USBC to USBC Cable from Amazon. If you use this cable, the adapter easily slides back and forth and can rotate 360 degrees. Otherwise, beware the FAQ recommends a cable diameter less than or equal to 5.2mm. This adapter does not fall off easily once plugged in which annoyed me a lot using the DEWALT 4-in-1 usb c cable.

replacing a whole cable with these two

I have a Airpods 2 Pro with lightning and an iPhone 15 Pro. So, over the last couple of years, I needed to carry 2 cables. Now that has been reduced to one. Plus, the benefit of using the USB-A adapter in rental cars or airplanes gives a greater peace of mind than carrying a dedicated USB-A cable. Very handy products, especially for the value.
