A little below expectations

I had the older model of this passport wallet and wanted to upgrade but the leather on the new one didn't quite meet the expectations I had from Horween. The build quality of the wallet is solid but the leather has more sandpaper texture. It is not giving the same satisfying tactile feeling as the old version. The smell is also more plastic rather than the distinct vegetable tanned Horween. Color of the wallet is also noticeably darker from the get go as opposed to becoming darker over time. 5 year old previous model attached for reference.

Solid standalone wallet but a a bit a little disappointing if you had the prior model.

High Quality Leather - Has some small stress marks that are a little unsightly

High quality wallet that I enjoy using, feels good to handle. Time will tell how it ages, but already the wallet has some uneven stress marks that are a little unsightly but it will take some time to see if additional stress marks will make it age better or worse
